Momentum with the Reigning Champion

The fifth and final round of this year’s individual championship takes place at the Trades Club on Monday (the 10th). Hebden team mates Matthew Parsons and Nick Sykes will be slugging it out for the honours. I’ve just posted a report of the round 4 action and all the games (except one) on the Yorkshire Chess website. For some reason the game Leonard vs. Parsons just wouldn’t load into the Chess Microbase so I’m adding it to this page in the game viewer below (along with all the others from round 4) for completeness. Good luck to both Matthew and Nick in the final round. May the best man win!

  1. Did we skip a post? I was looking forward to the article covering the last D1 league round.

    • Hi Carlos,

No you didn’t miss a post… I wanted to put this article up first in order to have round 4 results published before round 5 happened 🙂

I am a bit behind with posts because I was on holiday when the last round of fixtures took place so over the next week there will be several posts to bring the league 1 and 2 stories up to date.

      Stay tuned for future posts…

  2. Well done Matt for retaining the Individual Champion title.

On a negative note, it was a shame to see so many players dropping out of the competition before it finished. 30 started it back in November last year. Only 20 played last night.
